Nationwide Tour
The Nationwide Tour is the official proving ground of the PGA TOUR. Founded, owned and operated by the PGA Tour, the Nationwide Tour identifies those players who are ready to compete and win on golf's greatest stage. The Nationwide Tour's impact on the PGATOUR is undeniable, two out of every three PGA Tour players have Nationwide Tour roots, and Nationwide Tour alumni have amassed more than 250 PGA Tour titles, including eleven major championships. The Nationwide Tour features 29 tournaments played across the U.S. and five countries abroad. Much like the PGATOUR, it has a diverse membership and a global television audience on the Golf Channel with players from 19 countries competing for $19 million in prize money. Players who participated in the 2010 Melwood Prince George’s County Open presented by Under Armour included: Jason Gore, Skip Kendall, Robert Damron, Frank Lickliter II, Kirk Triplett, Glen Day, Tommy Gainey, Jamie Lovemark, Bob May, Steve Pate and Daniel Summerhays.
The Nationwide Tour, its tournaments, and its players are PGA TOUR DRIVEN.
